Pangkalpinang is a place rich in natural beauty, and also known as the largest producer of tin.
As the world's largest tin producer, Bangka Island has the only museum of tin in Indonesia.
Not only that, there are also historical museum that is characteristic of the area.
Tin Technology Museum, better known as Tin Museum of Indonesia, which was in Pangkalpinang, listed as the only one in Asia.
The museum is located on Jl. Ahmad Yani, close to Merdeka Square Garden pangkalpinang City. In this place the history of the discovery of tin can be seen on the island of Bangka. This museum occupies the building where Ir. Sukarno and Haji Agus Salim live at negosiasu between the Netherlands and UNCI in 1949. At 2 Agusrus 1997, it functioned as a museum buildings Timah Indonesia.
The museum has been established since 1958, when it was discovered a variety of traditional tin mining equipment I've ever used. Even so, the museum unveiled a totally new and opened to the public on August 2, 1997.
This museum displaying various equipment used to perform the mining of tin. Even this museum contains tin mining journey from the Dutch to the current developments.
Tin Museum is open every Monday to Friday at 08.00 until 16.00. On Sunday, the museum is open from 09:00 until 14:30 pm. To enter the museum, visitors are not charged or free.
Tin Museum Indonesia as having a high historical value. So no wonder if tourists often visit this museum to tour the historical as well as educational tours.
